Christiaan Geerts

In 1895 vertrok hij naar Indië waar hij tweemaal trouwde, omstreeks 1908 ging hij terug naar Nederland en liet zijn twee vrouwen daar achter, of hij daar ook kinderen had is onbekend.

Hij vestigde zich in Dordrecht en werd daar vader van 14 kinderen in 3 huwelijken, al zijn huwelijken eindigden voortijdig door het jong overlijden van zijn echtgenotes.

Met zijn eerste vrouw Maria Mackay, waarmee hij op 26 oktober 1910 trouwde, kregen ze 1 dochter, 3 zonen en 1 dochter die zeer jong overleed, Maria, geboren op 30 augustus 1915. Maria Mackay overleed op 2 april 1817 op 36 jarige leeftijd, kort na de geboorte van hun jongste zoon Christian Abraham Geerts, aan kraamvrouwenkoorts.

Met zijn tweede vrouw Johanna Christina van Fraassen kregen ze 1 dochter, Anna Maria. Johanna Christina van Fraassen overleed op 27 oktober 1918 op 34 jarige leeftijd aan de Spaanse Griep.

Met zijn derde vrouw Dirkje Jacoba Louman, waarmee hij op 28 augustus 1919 trouwde, kregen ze nog 6 dochters en 2 zonen. Dirkje Louman overleed op 22 september 1930 op 38 jarige leeftijd.

Christiaan was van beroep reizend kantoorklerk bij Lips Slotenfabriek te Dordrecht.

Zijn leven was verre van onberispelijk, het verlaten van zijn 2 vrouwen in Indië en de incest die hij pleegde met zijn dochters uit zijn derde huwelijk zijn hier schrijnende voorbeelden van.

Hij zou uiteindelijk zelf overlijden aan voedselvergiftiging op 3 april 1945, oud 71 jaar, en werd, geen van zijn kinderen was aanwezig, begraven bij zijn derde vrouw Dirkje Louman op de Algemene Begraafplaats (nu de Essenhof) te Dordrecht.

Veel van zijn kinderen en kleinkinderen werden Onderwijzer of Leraar.
