    Die Gebrüder Monasso. In 1896 wurde von Giovanni, Felice und Antonio Monasso ein Terrazzo- und Mosaikgeschäft in Bocholt gegründet. Die Brüder kamen aus Travesio, Italien und haben in Bocholt und weite Umgebung viele Häuser und Bauernhöfe mit Terrazzofussböden geschmückt. Sie wohnten mit ihre Familien an der Münsterstrasse 76. Im Mai 1915 wurden sie auf Grund der Kriegssituation gezwungen nach Aalten, Niederlande auszuwandern. Sie waren also die erste italienische Firma in Bocholt, noch vor Leone, der übrigens aus Clauzetto (14 km von Travesio) einem Nachbardorf der Monasso's kam.
