    Was schepen (of meier?) van Puurs: het schepenregister van Puurs vermeldt in de akte van 20.5.1626 aangaande een lening aangegaan door de voorouders van Jonker Adolf Van Busleyden en Philipotte Van Oyenbrugge zijn weduwe. Deze lening was toen verleden op 2 mei 1552 en de schepenbrief was ondertekend door Johannes Boyckens en erkend door de Raad van Brabant op 15 juli 1552. De jaarlijkse rente bedroeg 250 gulden en voor het kapitaal van 4500 gulden rustte er een hypotheek op alle goederen van het Godshuis van Sint Bernards.

    Een gelijkaardige verwijzing in het schepenregister van Puurs op 28 .9.1601: het betreft de verkoop van een lopende rente aan jonker Charles Sogelweyde, schout van de stad Lier, gehypothekeerd op een hoeve en gronden in Puurs, Oppuurs en Liezele. De oorspronkelijke lening was aangegaan op elf februari 1566, getekend door Jan Boyckens en A. Van Driessche en bezegeld met groene was met dubbele staart.
