Clara Ann Vanderlan Tyler, widow of the Rev. Nathan L. Tyler, died March 22, 2002, at Stephens County Hospital.

Born in Kirkland, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late John and Jantje Foppes Vanderlan. From 1936 until 1964, she was a missionary to the Belgian-Congo. Later, she served on the staff of Toccoa Falls College as a post office clerk and librarian. She was an active member of Toccoa Falls College Campus Church and an avid supporter of the National Republican Party.

Surviving are two sons, Robert P. (Toby) Tyler of Greenville, and Harold R. Tyler of Folsom, Calif. Five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren also survive her.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Grace Chapel, Toccoa Falls College Campus Church. Interment will occur at a later date at Kirkland Cemetery, Oneida County, N.Y.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the Nathan L. Tyler Scholarship Fund, Toccoa Falls College, Toccoa, GA, 30598. ? The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive.
