Bonne Römelingh ging op 17 jarige leeftijd naar Denemarken met zijn oom Konrad Römelingh. Hij was daar militair en wel als vaandrig in het Koninklijke lijfregement te voet bij de c.o.p. van de kapitein Friedrich van Boynenburg. Zijn vaandrigsoldij bedroeg 10 Rigsdaler per maand, en krachtens zijn rang had hij recht op het gebruik van twee paarden. In 1681 keerde hij op verzoek van de Heer van Ripperda van Farmsum, terug naar Farmsum. Daar werd hij schoolmeester en koster, en sinds 1-7-1684 ontvanger van de Farmsumer zijl. Zijn schoolmeestertractement be-droeg Fl.300,= p/jaar. Voor het secretariaat van de Farmsumerzijl kreeg hij jaarlijks 20 C.gld. wat later werd verhoogd naar 30 C.gld.
In jan. 1685 kocht hij negen grazen land voor 650 gld. (de Bonecamp) en in mei-juni 1688 vier akkers en een heem. Voorheen huurde hij land van de kerk. Wellicht was hij in 1692 diaken, want op 5 okt. 1692 40 gld. aan hem betaald "an achterstallige renten vor die armen".
