    WYTSMA, Dick Dick died peacefully at Starwood Nursing Home at the age of 86 on March 22, 2011. Beloved husband of 61 years of Laurene, dear father of the late Linda, Judy (Greg) and Rick (Brenda). Grandfather of Rob, Scott (Jen), Julie, Sarah and Ali. Great grandfather of Tucker. Dick was born in Wommels, The Netherlands and at a young age immigrated to Canada. He went to the University of Alberta where he graduated with distinction in Electrical Engineering in 1946. After graduation, he made a big move east to Ottawa starting employment with Bell Canada. In 1950 he and Laurene married and over the following 25 years lived in Montreal and Toronto raising 3 children. Dick enjoyed a very active retirement beginning in 1986. Throughout his life, Dick enjoyed all outdoor activities especially canoeing, biking, skiing and running. He could repair everything from a toaster to cars and TVs. He built fine furniture, canoes and flying model airplanes. Friends may visit at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Baseline and Bayshore Dr.), Nepean on Saturday, March 26th from 3:30 pm until service time in the Chapel at 4:30 pm. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Starwood Extendicare for the great care over the last 2 years.
