Hij vertrok van Maassluis naar Transvaal op 10 oktober 1903. Komt terug van Adelaide in de Kaapkolonie naar Maasluis op 22 september 1905 en vertrekt definitief naar Zuid-Afrika 13 september 1917. Hij is daar waarschijnlijk overleden tussen 1940 en 1945.
