    TRUYMAN JOANNES BERNARDUS

    Geboren te Kallo op 20 december 1769

    OPLEIDING : Autorisatie Université Imperiale - 4 februari 1813

    Onderwijsverbod van Commissie - 1826

    Schoolmeester 1810 tot voor 1826

    Tijdelijk onderwijzer in wijk "den Molen" (12 mei 1828)

    Hij was onderwijzer, winkelier en herbergier

    Slechts weinigen weigerden in 1808 de aansluiting tot de Universiteit. Degenen die in

    1812 - 1813 nog in functie waren kregen dan een diploma, samen met enkelen die na 1808

    in dienst waren getreden.

    Het belangenconflict tussen Jean François Coppens en Jean Bernard Truyman beiden

    onderwijzers te Kallo in 1811, toont aan welk belang de overheid hechtte aan de

    intentieverklaring. J.F. Coppens bekloeg zich over de concurrentie van J.B. Truyman.

    Tijdens het Oostenrijks regime was nl. besloten dat Kallo slechts één onderwijzer zou

    tellen, in casu J.F. Coppens, omdat de schoolmeester van de schoolgelden zou kunnen

    leven.

    Verder gaf J.B. Truyman enkel in het Nederlands les, terwijl J.F. Coppens ook frans

    aanleerde. Tenslotte zou J.B. Truyman zich niet onderworpen hebben aan de Keizerlijke

    Universiteit. De onderprefect van het departement steunde aanvankelijk J.F.Coppens.

    Pas nadat J.B. Truyman ook een intentieverklaring had afgelegd, veranderde de onder-

    prefect van mening.
