Op den 12e Maart 1668 Pacht Jan Jacobs Seven te Veendam van Adriaen Trip en Gerhard Wildervanck de "Kaabelinge in 't Monneke Veen op de kaart geteeckend met nummero 21. Zij zoon Jacob Jans Seven is ook vervener en boer. In 1710 leent Hindrik Jans Seven 100 Caroler guldens . Hij woont in Nieuwe Pekela. Het is niet bewezen maar wel aannemelijk dat deze Hindrik ook een zoon is van Jan Jacobs Seven. Vrijwel alle personen die in de Groninger archieven vermeld worden (400) onder de geslachtsnaam Se(even of Ze)even stammen af van Jan Jacobs of van Hindrik Jans. Stamvaders van de nu nog losse takken werden na 1700 in de provincies Groningen of Drente geboren.
