Johannes woonde in Rotterdam in de Frederikstraat 41, woonde daar al voor zijn trouwen Had daar een bakkerij of een brood depot in 1900 .In het zelfde huis woonde ook zijn schoonvader J.J. Verroen kartonmaker. Ook was hij kruidenier en bezorgde ook brood. Na zijn overlijden hetrouwde zijn weduwe met den Daas . In 1910 woonde zij op het Oosteinde 69 later in de Taborstraat 71 en in 1914 in de Hooglandstraat 110 b In 1923 naar de Carnissesingel 255 en in 1935 naar de Dordtsmondstraat 58 a op 48 woonde haar zoon Bart Mekke met zijn vrouw Agnes Maria Dikmans en kinderen. Toen het alleen wonen een probleem werd ging zij bij haar dochter wonen in Vlaardingen op de Vlaardingsedijk 5, zij had daar een boekwinkel. Dina Catharina overlijdt in Vlaardingen in het rusthuis Eben Haezer Maassluisedijk 140.
