Walengier I van Egmont (overleden 2 januari 1016), zesde heer van Egmond. Zoon van Dodo I van Egmont en Kornelia van Brunswijk.Hij stichtte het dorp Egmond aan Zee. Mogelijk was dit al door vissers bewoonde nederzetting. Hij bouwde er een kerkje ter ere van St. Anna en zo verkreeg deze nederzetting de dorpsstatus. Hij trouwt 1e met Katharina, de dochter van de hertog van Gloucester. Nadat hij haar op 27 augustus 1004 op overspel betrapte, doodde hij haar en haar minnaar en begroef beiden in het bos naast het slot op de Hoef, dus in ongewijde grond. Hij woonde op het rondeel te Egmond op de Hoef. Trouwt 2e met Helena van Brandenburg (overleden 22 juli 1027). Kind uit het eerste huwelijk:– Ghibert (door zijn vader in een klooster geplaatst, later domproost te Utrecht). Kind uit het huwelijk met Helena van Brandenburg: Dodo II van Egmont
