Er ontstond daarna een hevige strijd om de kerkelijke bezittingen. Deze werden tenslotte via een rechterlijke uitspraak gewonnen door de Ned.Hervormde kerk. Al spoedig bouwden de Gereformeerden hun eigen kerk. Vanaf 1887 bestaat er naast de Doopsgezinde en de Hervormde Vreekens, ook een Gereformeerde tak..
