Alart van Beynem, is één der twaalf ridders, die in dienst van hertog Arnold van Gelre binnen Culemborg gelegen hadden, en 10 aug. 1472 beloven zich te zullen houden aan het bestand, als nu tusschen Gerard, heer van Culemborg, en de aanhangers van
Adolf van Gelre gesloten (Ngh., a. w., IV, n^ 527). Met Dirk van Eek, ridder, zoon van Bartholomeus van Eck, sticht op 4 mei 1504 eene vicarie op den altaar van St. Anna in de kerk te Eck. Dirks broeder, Johan van Eck, was genaamd van Beynhem (ms. gen. v. Eek v. Panthaleon).
