IowaNorthwood, Iowa-Marvyleen V. (Babe) Pike, 81, entered into eternity on Thursday, July 17, 2003, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa. Funeral services were held at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2003. Burial was at Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood.
Marvyleen was born on October 25, 1921, in Butler County, Iowa to George and Dena (Havinga) Naber. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour in November, 1929. She attended New Hartford School. She married Roy C. Pike on December 27, 1939. They farmed in Mitchell and Worth counties and later moved to Northwood. Babe worked at the Viking Restaurant and later at the school cafeteria for 16 years in Northwood.
She is survived by four children; Robert Pike and wife, Darla of Forest City, Iowa, Judy Pike of Mason City. Gerald Pike and wife, Kathy of Cottage Grove, MN, and Linda Rice and husband, Richard of Lake Mills, Iowa; sisters, Arvada Pickering of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Audrey Schoeman of New Hartford, Iowa; brother George Naber and wife, Dorothy of Cedar Falls; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Babe was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy, five brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.
