---Funeral services for Florence (Christians) Walhof were held Oct. 14, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church in Edgerton with Pastor Timothy Brown officiating. Tricia van Ee, her granddaughter, was the soloist, and Jean brown was the organist. Seven of her grandchildren were pallbearers.
---Florence Christians was born on March 23, 1915, to Chris and Hattie Christians in Wright County, Iowa. When Florence was a baby, the family moved to the Edgerton area where she attended school.
---On January 18, 1938, she married Peter Walhof, Jr. After renting farmland near Edgerton for a couple years, they purchased a farm near Hatfield in 1941, where they lived until their retirement in 1976. During her retirement, Florence spent many pleasant hours quilting and crocheting, making numerous treasures for her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Edgerton.
---Florence suffered a stroke at her home on Wednesday, Oct. 9, while quilting and talking to her daughter on the phone. She died on October 11, 2002, at the Pipestone County Medical Center.
