Miss Gertie Ruter and Henry Rieken United in Marriage
Wellsburg, Feb. 24.—Miss Gertie Ruter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eike Ruter of Wellsburg, and Henry Rieken, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Rieken were married Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock. The marriage ceremony took place in the parsonage of the Wellsburg Reformed church with the pastor, Rev. William Landsiedel officiating. The couple was attended by the bride's sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. John Heinrich.
---Immediately following the marriage the couple left for Des Moines and from there they will go to the Ozarks in Missouri and Arkansas.
---The bride Is a graduate of Wellsburg high school and is popular with her many friends. She attended the Iowa State Teachers college and taught in the rural schools. Mr. Rieken has been in the employ of the John Ross Construction company. They will make their home in Wellsburg.
They got married on February 20, 1941 at Wellsburg, Grundy County, Iowa, he was 35 years old.
Henry died in Washington state according to the following article on page 6 of the June 17, 1965 Ackley World Journal, Ackley, Iowa.

---Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ Wellsburg for Hank Rieken, who died Sunday afternoon at '2 o'clock of a heart attack at Seattle, Wash, where they had been visiting relatives. Prayer services will be at 1 p.m. at the Doyen Funeral Home in Wellsburg.
---He is survived by his wife, the former Gertie Ruter; his mother, Mrs. Dick Rieken of Wellsburg; two brothers, Raymond of Ackley and Lester of Wellsburg and one sister, Mrs. Louie Riebkes of Wellsburg.
