Dorothy Mae "Dottie" Duitsman, 83, of Forreston died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, in her home. She was born May 27, 1921, in Gary, S.D., the daughter of John and Anna Beving Eikamp. Dorothy married Wendell J. Duitsman June 12, 1946, in Anderson, Ind.; he died Feb. 6, 1995. In addition to being a homemaker, Dorothy was a quality assurance inspector at Micro Switch in Freeport, and later worked as a CNA at Stephenson Nursing Center. She was a member of Forreston First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and a Sunday school teacher, and made several trips to Appalachia with the Red Bird Mission. As a volunteer she worked for Meals on Wheels, Ogle County Hospice and was a mentor at Forreston Grade School. Survivors include sons, William (Nancy) Duitsman of Paw Paw, Brad Duitsman of Lena and David (Luann) Duitsman of Winnebago; daughter, Wendy (Hat) Taylorson of St. Charles, Mo.; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild; brother, Arthur (Norma) Eikamp of Langlois, Ore.; and sister, Ruth Sigman of Springville, Utah. Also predeceased by two sisters and a brother.
