BERTHA HARMS
Mrs. Bertha Harms, 85, of Dumont, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 1986at the Grundy Memorial Hospital at Grundy Center after a short illness.
Mrs. Bertha Rust Harms was born near Aplington on July 10, 1900 to Mr.and Mrs. Arend Rust. On July 11, 1923, she was united in marriage toJohn E. Harms at the Washington Reformed Church, rural Ackley, southwestof Dumont. They farmed in the Dumont area. Mrs. Harms moved to Dumontfollowing the death of her husband in 1961.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Leroy (Ebalena) Kruse of Wellsburg;three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and one brother,George Rust of Dumont.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and twohalf-brothers.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 20, at 1:30 p.m. in theWashington Reformed Church, rural Ackley, with Rev. Stephen Veldhuisofficiating. Burial was made at the church cemetery with Vogel FuneralHome in charge of arrangements.
The organist was Edna Essman and the pianist Michelle Fisher. Vocalistswere Ronald Fisher and Mrs. Brent Fisher. Pallbearers were Joe Rust,Richard Rust, Norman Buseman, Eugene Maifield, Virgil Klahsen, and EldonKrull.
