Thomas K. Meester and Miss Anna Peters were united in marriage at thePleasant Valley Reformed Church Parsonage on March 11, 1907. The Rev.Daniel Schaefer officiated.

Anna was a neighbor girl, the daughter of Ettje (Willemssen) and JohnPeters. They started their married life on a farm three and one-quarter miles west of Fern, Iowa, in Section 27 of Pleasant Valley Township,Grundy County, Iowa. Leon John and Jean Ann (Beninga) Meester now livehere. Thomas and Anna purchased 320 acres from the Conradi's, located one-half mile south of this home farm. They moved here with their eight children.

In 1945, Thomas and Anna retired from the farm and moved to a home onthe east edge of Wellsburg. Thomas had a large garden that kept him busy after they moved to town. Thomas passed away on October 26, 1950. Anna remained in her home until passing away on January 20, 1956.
