Notes about John A Kruger

John A. Kruger -- came from Germany when he was twelve with his parents, the Ailt Krugers. They lived in Grundy County where John A. grew up and married Grace Baumgarten. In 1884 they came to Lyon County to live. He purchased a farm that had been homesteaded by Abner Hatch, three miles cast and a mile and a half north of George. 'I'here was a small house on the place in which they lived for several years before they built the larger one pictured here. Shown on the picture are Emma (died when she was a young lady); Mrs. Kruger; George J. (married Anna Kruger); Peter (married Ida Popkes); Jake (married Irene Hassebrock); and Mr. Kruger. Children not pictured are Okke (married Anna Peters); Helen (married twice, Helmer de Boer and Harry de Boer); Elizabeth (Mrs. K. F. Klaahsen); Gertie (Mrs. Harm Harberts); Ailt (married Dena Stickfoot); and Jennie (unmarried).
