Witnesses were Henry Koster and John Haselhof, both living in Kalamazoo, MI, certificate nr. 25191. According to the parents of Tom Baas, there was a lot of controversy about this marriage. Supposedly Jantje used a lot of Klaas's money and spent it on her kids.

They got married on July 22, 1927 at Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, she was 65 years old.

Tom Baas heard from a friend in Groningen that Menno and Jantje married on May 16, 1901, not 1900.
