Notes about Leuntje den Hamer
Omstreeks 1727 bouwden Cornelis Scheele, geb. 05-06-1701 en echtgenote Leuntje den Hamer, geb. 08-09-1707, een boerderij aan de kreek in Hoek. Hij is er visser bij, gezien de geregelde overstromingen, een stabielere manier van inkomsten. Cornelis Scheele overleed in 1739.
Leuntje den Hamer hertrouwde met Adriaan Walraven te Zaamslag, die vervolgens de lasten overneemt. Het echtpaar Walraven bleef in Zaamslag wonen.
In 1920 verlaat de laatste Scheele de boerderij. Hij is de laatste Scheele, na twee eeuwen door de familie Scheele van vader op zoon bewoond geweest te zijn.
