Harmen ten Bruggencate was born in 1721 in Heerlijkheid Almelo.1,2 He married (NH) Fenneken Stromeijer, daughter of Thomas Stromeijer and Willemina Monniks, on 9 May 1745 in Almelo.1 (Banns 4 April 1745).1 He died before 1802 because he died before Lambert's marriage.3
Other information:
Harmen ten Bruggencate and Fenneken Stromeijer were in 1770 bleachers. A bleaching field, bleaching shed and all tools belonging thereto, were a part of the security for a loan.4,5
Harmen ten Bruggencate and Fenneken Stromeijer made a will on 1 July 1790. They named their sons Thomas, Lambert and Hendrik and daughters Janna, Willemina and Lamberdina. Wilhelmina, wife of Jan Barens, only gets the interest on her legal portion; the portion itself will go to her children Baarent and Lambertdiena.6
Lambert ten Bruggencate, of Almelo, merchant and skipper, of the Dutch Reformed faith, has for himself and his son Harmen ten Bruggencate, age 9 years, obtained the "klein Burgerschap" (limited citizenship) of Zwolle, and has sworn the citizen's oath.7
