Was Minister (1731- 1742) in Diepenheim (Holland). Was sent to East India on 9 Apr 1742 on ship "Adrichem" with his wife and 4 children. She died on board. He arrived on 28 March 1743 in the Cape and was requested by Baron G.W. Van Imhoff to start a church in Tulbach (Land van Waveren). He had the first church erected there. (Today the eldest church in the Cape and still in its original form.
