Eduard Philip Prins was gehuwd met een niet-joodse vrouw. Het huwelijk liep waarschijnlijk in 1941 stuk, zonder te scheiden. Hij is vervolgens naar Amsterdam verhuisd en daar ondergedoken. Bij een vluchtpoging naar Engeland is hij verraden. Via kamp Vught vanaf 29 oktober 1943 en Westerbork vanaf 20 november is hij op 3 maart 1944 op transport gesteld naar Auschwitz. Hij had drie kinderen die waren ondergedoken en de oorlog hebben overleefd.
