Gijzelaar tijdens gevecht tussen Franse parachutisten en Duitse Luftwaffe in Ter Arlo

Albert Eggen is door twee Duitse militairen op een motor met zijspan weggehaald uit de woning van zijn ouders aan de Oude Hoogeveenseweg. Na een kort verblijf in het kamp van de Luftwaffe op Ter Arlo wordt hij overgebracht naar het Noorderhuis, waar hij in de loop van de middag als gijzelaar wordt gefusilleerd. Zijn lichaam wordt op woensdag 11 april na een zoekactie in het Spaarbankbos gevonden.
