In het Tilburgs Bijnamenboek is de volgende anekdote opgetekend:
"Al rond 1900 moet het zijn geweest, toen een meisje Eras dat een sérieuze omgang had met een De Beer op een avond aan zijn familie werd voorgesteld. Op het moment dat zij werd binnengelaten in de kamer waar haar toekomstige schoonouders waren, werd daar juist het rozenhoedje gebeden. Dit was aangekomen bij de "bijzondere intenties". Zij hoorde tot haar ontzetting voorbidden: "…en nu een weesgegroetje voor Harrie Eras, dattie mar flink maag braande in de hèl..!"
Het huwelijk is toch doorgegaan!"
Gezien de vermelde naam De Beer - Eras en de huwelijksdatum moet het 'meske Eras' vermoedelijk deze Conny zijn geweest... ?
