Stamhouder 'dode tak' : geen mannelijke nakomelingen met kinderen.

Na het overlijden van Jos Eras lieten zijn ouders in Boxtel voor zijn weduwe en hun kinderen 'Villa Eras' bouwen, tegenover de pastorie van de H. Hartkerk in Boxtel, op de hoek van de (toen nog Nieuwe Kerkstraat; sinds januari 1949: Baroniestraat 43) en de Ons Doelstraat; Zoon Jos jr. legde op 19-3-1910 de 'eerste steen', die in het pand is aangebracht.
De eigendom werd verdeeld over Cornelia J.A. van Campen en haar inwonende kinderen.

Over 'vila Eras' is door Emmy. A. Janssens (Eindhoven 6-5-1970), de oudste dochter van een van de latere (1-4-1993) eigenaars (Ir. Egbert Janssens (Eindhoven 28-5-1942) (gehuwd Eindhoven 13-12-1968 met) Zwaantje Akse (Eindhoven 28-6-1947) een historisch van belang zijnd boekwerkje samengesteld, ter gelegenheid van de zilveren bruiloft van haar ouders in november 1993. Het beschrijft o.m. de aanstelling van Frans Eras als bouwpastoor van de H. Hartkerk en initiator van het Ursulinnenklooster; en waarom "Villa Eras" daar is gebouwd en de verschillende eigenaars / gebruikers van het laatste pand.
Villa Eras is - met het onder dezelfde architect, Leo Goyarts uit Tilburg, gebouwde Ursulinnenklooster, (en de H. Hartkerk (van architect C. Franssen uit Roermond; gebouwd door de Utrechtse aannemer G. van Rassel)) op de monumentenlijst geplaatst.
Het pand Villa Eras kent daarna een roemruchte geschiedenis, van vordering door de Duitse Krijgsmacht en plundering door de Boxtelse bevolking, ingebruikname door belastingdienst en verschillende particulieren, die in het boekje uitgbreid aan de orde komt.
