In 1887 werd deze wollenstoffenfabriek opgericht door Vincent Verschuuren, die aan zijn naam die van zijn vrouw Maria Piron toevoegde. Het bedrijf begon in de Noordhoek (Noordstraat), maar tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog verhuisde het naar Koningshoeven. Daar specialiseerde het bedrijf zich verder in het spinnen van wollen damesstoffen en later ook tapijtgarens. Mede door de goedkopere buitenlandse concurrentie werd in 1975 de productie stopgezet. Er werkten toen nog 35 personen. In 1976 werd het fabriekscomplex gekocht door de gemeente Tilburg. Een deel van de gebouwen werd gesloopt en een ander deel gerenoveerd. Die zijn nu in gebruik door Jan Verschuuren.
