Aanvoerder in de strijd ter bevrijding van Beneventum van de Saracenen (847). Stichtte temidden van zijn uitgestrekte bezittingen aan de Schelde en de Maas het Calixtusklooster aan de Treviso (863/864). Na zijn overlijden door zijn zoon Unruoch overgebracht naar Cusoing en aldaar als heilige vereerd met als gedenkdag 16 dec. Geh. ca.838 met:
