    3780144  Willem III van Strijen, geb. voor 1253, ovl. tussen 05-06-1293 en 25-11-1294, heer van Strijen, vermeld 1275 als “domicellis de Striene” en sedert 1283 als ridder. Betwistte in 1276 en 1277 Heiligenberg aan Ten Does waarbij graaf Floris V tussenbeide moest komen. Maakte het de abdij v. St.Bernard bij Antwerpen moeilijk. Vorderde ten onrechte brood- en wijngeld v.d. poorters van Dordrecht. Bouwde onder Oosterhout het huis te Strijen dat zodanig gelegen was dat de burcht in Brabant en de voorburcht in Holland stond. Men zei daarom dat hij moeilijk te vangen was zowel voor de hertog als voor de graaf.  Hij was in 1285 en 1287 bij Floris V borg voor de heren Gijsbrecht IV van Amstel en Herman van Woerden maar sloot zich 1290 bij de ontevreden Zeeuwen aan, doch verzoende zich weer met  graaf Floris V, voor wie hij 1293 borg stond bij de bisschop van Utrecht. Geh. ca.1288 met Oda van Borselen, ovl. voor 25-11-1294. Hij had een bastaardzoon bij:
