0014312  Willem Cornelisz. Meuch, ovl. voor 29-12-1574 Vlaardingen, stierman, koopt een buis-karveelschip, d.i. een haringschip metgladde romp, van de Antwerpse koopman Aryaen van Rome. In 1560 hadden Vlaanderen, Zeeland en Holland samen ca. 700 haringschepen. Eind 16e eeuw raakte, als gevolg van de Tachtigjarige oorlog, de Vlaamse haringvisserij in verval en kwam de Hollandse op.

Willem koopt 28-10-1570 een huis en erf aan de Nieuwstraat te Vlaardingen, geh. met:
