Veessen, 7-11-1798) uit Frankrijk naar Nederland gekomen zou zijn met een broer of een neef en dat Jan zou zijn gaan wonen te Leerdam en de broer (of neef) naar Raalte zou zijn gegaan. Door deze genealogie is nu wel aangetoond dat dit verhaal niet juist is.
