Bij trouw/1744, J:M:, 34 jaar, geboren te Wel ( weelde ??) en wonende te Goirle, geen ouders, geassist. met zijn broeder Machiel Luijten.

Geachte heer Eijsermans, beste Jan,

In Geneanet trof ik jouw data betreffende leden van de familie Luijten, waaronder Adrianus Luijten, geboren 1710 in Weelde.

In 1710 werd geen Adrianus Luijten gedoopt. Wel een Joannes, zoon van Joannes Luijten en Catharina Jansens, en wel op 17-4-1710. Ik vermoed dat de pastoor zich bij deze notitie heeft vergist. Want in het gezin van Joannes Luijten x Catharina Jansens zijn behalve deze Joannes van 1710 onder meer nog de volgende kinderen: Antonia, gedoopt 15-4-1701 en Michiel 2-9-1705 (die 5-5-1732 te Tilburg trouwt met Maria Brouwers). Deze zien wij als doopgetuigen / peter of meter optreden bij de dopen van de kinderen van Adrianus Luijten x Joanna van der Loo: op 7-2-1747 Michiel Luijten (doop Cornelis); op 24-10-1748: Antonia Luijten namens Maria Brouwers (doop Catharina); op 13-11-1751 Michiel Luijten (doop Cornelis), op 10-1-1753 Antonia Luijten (doop Catharina).

Op grond van bovenstaande mogen wij constateren, dat Adrianus Luijten degene was die op 17-4-1710 in Weelde werd gedoopt, en dat de pastoor zich vergiste in de doopnaam. Geen 'Joannes' maar Adrianus.

Deze 'Johannes' (Adrianus dus) was een zoon van Joannes Jacob Luijten (gedoopt Weelde 4-10-1670) x Catharina Jan Jansens (uit Casteren).

Dat wilde ik graag even melden. Hoop dat je er iets aan hebt!
