Jna Suermont was drossaard van het Land van Heusden. Zijn vrouw Christina (Karstine) gaf op 14 mei 1431 haar man het vruchtgebruik van dit leen. Mogelijk was deze drossaard een afstammeling van Heer Jan Suurmonts die in 1346 bastaard wordt genoemd van Hertog Willem van Beieren.
