De zoon van Joost, Teunis, krijgt uit een buitenechtelijke relatie met Annigje Pietersdr van Rees een zoon, Johannes. Maar niet op een prettige wijze, getuige de notitie bij de doop van Johannes op 1 juli 1778 te Sliedrecht: "buiten echt gewonnen bij Theunis Joostz van der Wiel, jongeman, die haar, zoals zij zegt en staande houd, op ene gewelddadige wijze bezwangerd heeft en met wien zij ook daarna weigert te trouwen, schoon hij daartoe kort voor de bevalling nog ten overstaan van twee schepenen aangezocht heeft." Het kind is door de moeder zelve ten doop geheven, natuurlijke zoon van Teunis van der Wiel en Annigje Pieters van Rees.
