Notes about Johannis de Weert
Beroep in 1907: koetsier/postillon. Naar verluidt was hij de laatste postkoetsier van Nederland, rijdend tussen bergen op Zoom en Vlissingen. Nadien was hij chauffeur en arbeider.
Opmerkelijk is dat hij in 1902 en 1904 de geboorteakte van zijn dochters Anna en Cornelia ondertekent met de achternaam DE WEERDT. In 1907 ondertekent hij de geboortakte van zoon Joseph weer gewoon met DE WEERT. Bij de geboorte van zijn oudste dochter Johanna in 1887 tekent hij overigens de akte niet, omdat hij verklaart "niet te kunnen lezen of tekenen, als zulks niet geleerd hebbende."
Bij zijn eigen geboorte was hij de tweede Johannis in het gezin. Zijn oudere broer Johannis, geboren in 1862, overleed al in januari 1863, nog net geen jaar oud. Zoals gebruikelijk in die dagen kreeg de volgende geboren zoon de naam van de eerder overleden zoon. Jan werd voor de lichting 1885 ingeschreven in het Inschrijvingsregister van de gemeente Rucphen en door de Militieraad uit hoofde van broederdienst vrijgesteld.
Uit de geboorteaktes van hun kinderen blijkt hun verhuistraject: in 1887 was het Dinteloord, in 1899 Bergen op Zoom, in 1902 Halsteren.
