Notes about Jan Vermaeth

Jan (of zijn vader of zelfs grootvader met een soortgelijke voornaam) wordt genoemd in relatie tot bezittingen van Beernt van Oversloot:
"Item opten vierden dach in octobri (ca 1490/1504) sterf Beernt van Oversloot. Ende heeft besproken uut een hofsede ende boomgaerd ghelegen opten weerdt, westwaert naest ghelegen Jan Vermaet ende oestwaert Lambert Peterss, voer sijn memori enen beyers gulden sjaers. Van welcken die pastoer sal bueren [sic], die coster II 1/2 stuver ende dat ander die kerc voer dat belichten." Dit is de eerste Vermaet die genoemd wordt in de omgeving van Tienhoven (a/d Lek) en Ameide. Hierbij valt op dat hij al de naam Vermaet draagt (en niet vander Maet/van der Mathe), ruim 30 jaar voordat de broers Philip en Pieter Cornelisz, die in dat deel van het land "Vermaet" gaan heten, worden geboren in Poortugaal. Wie is deze Jan? Er is een mogelijk interessante verbinding mogelijk met de familie Vermaeth uit Schonauwen: zowel de naam Aryaen als Pieter komen daar voor bij de broers van Jan Peter Luytgensz. Jan heeft bovendien een zoon die Aelbert heet. De Aelbert Jansz uit Tienhoven heeft onder meer een zoon die Cornelis heet.
