Hij had, zo wordt beweerd, de eerste motor in Nederland begin 1900. Later had hij de eerste autobus-onderneming van Nederland in de omgeving Utrecht. Hij stierf in 1914 aan de cholera, volgens sommigen omdat hij in (met deze ziekte) besmet water gesprongen was om iemand te redden. Een paar dagen later stierf ook zijn vrouw. Beroep: rijwielhersteller.

Bij zijn militaire keuring op 18 december 1902 wordt hij afgekeurd op 'gebreken'. Hij is dan 1,77 meter groot en van beroep 'werkman'.
