In haar huwelijksakte wordt gesteld dat ze afkomstig is van Terheijden. In de aktes van die regio is echter maar één Cornelia de Leeuw te vinden die in aanmerking komt voor deze stamboom, en dat is degene die op 20 februari 1723 gedoopt wordt in de kerk van de Bredase Nieuwstraat. Eerder al, in 1718, kregen haar ouders een dochter die ook Cornelia heette, maar die vroegtijdig overleden moet zijn.
