Mogelijk bewoner van de hofstede 'Langelaar', een kasteelachtige boerderij tussen Scherpenzeel en De Glind. Het stond ook bekend als het bos 'langlo' (lo is een oud woord voor bos) en in 1472 komt hier al een Hendrik van Langelaer voor. Het woord 'laer of laar' betekend 'een open plaats in het bos'. Op deze plaats staat nu een vrij nieuwe boerderij, genaamd 'De Langelaar' of ook wel "Groot Langelaar", want de vorige boerderij is begin 1900 afgebrand.
