Bij zijn verloving werd hij Jan Drouwe de Jonge genoemd. Er was al eerder, in 1707, een zoon Gerrit geboren bij Jan en Jannetje, maar die moet jong overleden zijn. Er is geen verbinding gevonden tussen Pieter Drouwe en deze Jan Droewee, maar als die bestaat, zal Jan waarschijnlijk een kleinzoon zijn.
