Adrianus was eigenaar van de 'Ronde Stede' in Essen en van 1545-1573 was hij pachter van 'De Greef' in Kalmthout, vandaar ook de achternaam van zijn kinderen.

Met 'Sint Lenaerstmisse' t.t.z. op 11 april 1545, komt er een nieuwe pachter in de persoon van Adriaen Diericxss. Voor hem gelden dezelfde voorwaarden als die aan zijn voorganger opgelegd. Bij de afrekening in 1554 is de pachter met 22 rynsgulden, 3 stuivers, 1 blank ten achter wat de pachtprijs betreft, en van het voorlijf beloopt dat 3 rijnsgulden, 8 stuivers, 1 oort. De veestapel in gemeenschappelijk bezit bestond uit : 7 koeien, 4 ossen, 21 runderen en 128 schapen. In 1574 staat Adriaen Pauwels Dierickxss. nog voor 6 jaar pacht. De pachtprijs en voorlijf zijn als in 1546. Bij de afrekening blijkt hij aan de abdij volgende schuld te hebben : voor de pacht : 14 sesters rogge en 16 rijnsgulden; voor het voorlijf : 24 ellen lakens, 1 zak, 11 rijnsgulden, 5 st., 1 blank en 9 mijten. De gemeenschappelijke veestapel bestond uit 11 koeien, 4 ossen, 18 runderen en 78 schapen.

De echtegenote van Adriaen is niet bekend, maar ze hadden samen zeven kinderen.
