We weten weinig van Melchior Casparsen. Wel dat hij vier dochters had, die aan de basis staan van Scherpenzeelse geslachten met klinkende namen als Leijenhorst, Vierhouten, Langelaer en Van Ginkel. Hij komt voor in een enkele notitie:

In 1647 moet Melchior Casparsen 6-18-8 betalen aan Hendrick Gijsberts (Recht. Arch. Scherpenzeel 1, fol. 109vo; 13-12-1647).

Lidm. reg. Scherpenzeel 1657: Melchior Casparsen. (Opm.: op 16-10-1636 wordt als lidmaat aangenomen: Melchior Slaadt; de enige Melchior in het lidmatenregister. Dus wellicht is zijn achternaam SLAADT, hoewel ook al een vermelding is gevonden op internet van de achternaam STAADT.
