Notes about Christiaan Butger

Christiaan kwam volgens het Zutphense trouwboek uit de omgeving van Hannover, en diende in het Staatse leger. Hij was soldaat in 't regiment van de brigadier Taets van Amerongen, in de compagnie van kapitein Cuijlenborg. Het regiment stond bekend onder de naam Infanterie Regiment 689a. Zutphen, waar Christiaan trouwde in de Grote Kerk met zijn landgenote Anna, was indertijd een garnizoensstad, waar veel buitenlandse soldaten dienden. Het regiment van Christiaan lag van 1731 tot 1737 in Zutphen, daarna verhuisde het naar Utrecht.
