In de archieven is de volgende informatie gevonden over een huwelijk van zoon Christianus met ene Soetken: "Soetken is ondertrouwd Essen op 11 april 1635 (getuigen waren D. Petrus van de Sande en D. Stephanus van Hove) en getrouwd aldaar op 21 juli 1635 met Christianus Adriaenssen ook genaamd Botsen en Meurs, geboren tussen 1600 en 1605, overleden tussen 1636 en 1640, zoon van Adriaen Adriaenssen Meurs en Catharina Kerstens, alias Lijnken Kerstens." Uit deze aantekening blijkt dat de naam BOTSEN een soort bijnaam is, en dat de echte achternaam van Adriaen MEURS is.
