MIjn moeder Jo Reijnen vertelde: "Nolleke was weduwnaar en komt op een goeie dag, op reis met schoenenlinnen, bij de pastoor van Lith. De zwaar gelovige Nol heeft een gesprek met de pastoor waarin hij zich laat ontvallen dat hij een vrouw zoekt en dat zijn vader schoolmeester was. De pastoor zegt de schoolmeester hier die hee een ongetrouwde dochter en die speelt nu in de kerk een liedje op het orgel. Beide mannen gingen luisteren en Nolleke vond het liedje zo mooi dat hij op slag verliefd werd op Catharina Oversteeg, de dochter van de Lithse schoolmeester. Zo is het dan gekomen"
