Notes about Mathilda van Vlaanderen

geb. ca. 1031/32, ovl. 03.11.1083 in Caen, Calvados, begraven in Caen, Sante Trinité "Abbaye aux Dames", Gekroond tot koningin van Engeland Westminster Abbey London op 11.05.1068. Daar ze dichter dan in de 7e graad verwant waren, moest Mathilde van de paus als compensatie voor dispensatie voor haar huwelijk in 1066 de Abdijkerk bij Caen stichten, waar ze begraven werd (ook Willem moest een abdijkerk stichten). Bij de opgraving van haar beenderen in 1961 bleek zij maar 1,25 meter lang te zijn geweest.
