EXPOSITIE VAN EEN PORTRET VAN ALBERT LEJEUNE

Momenteel wordt in de etalage van de fa. Van Erp-Broekhans in de Heuvelstraat een olieverf portret van wijlen den heer Albert Maurice Lejeune geëxposeerd. Zoals men zich herinnert was de heer Lejeune in leven leeraar M.O. handteekenen en tevens kunstschilder. Tal van zeer goede stukken werden door hem vervaardigd terwijl hij ook met veel talent voor verschillende organisaties vaandels en banieren ontwierp. Ook als de bouwer van de roemruchtige Tilburgsche tentoonstellingen van 1909 en 1913 zal de oudere generatie zich den heer Lejeune met vreugde herinneren.
Het schilderstuk, dat werd uitgevoerd door kunstzaal De Kok te Den Haag en wel speciaal door de bekwame hand van den Eindhovenschen kunstschilder W. de Kok, die zijn studies in Italië en Oostenrijk maakte, kenmerkt zich door de warmte van kleur en een fraaie belichting, die het beeld goed los van den achtergrond makt. Ook de gelaatsuitdrukking is zodanig goed getroffen, dat de geportetterde als het ware voor den toeschouwer leeft. Geen wonder, dat het veel belangstelling trekt.
