Graaf van Dreux en van Perche 1132/84, graaf van Braine-sur Vesle 1152, heer van Savigny 1123. Stralende vertegenwoordiger van het Franse ridderdom. Neemt met zijn broer Lodewijk VII deel aan de Tweede Kruistocht waar hij (als Robert van Perche) de vergadering van de Jerusalemse kroonraad bij Acco op 24.06.1148 bijwoont, waar besloten een (mislukte) veldtocht tegen Damascus te beginnen. Trouwt (1) ca. 1139 Agnes van Garlande, overl. 1143.
